We were forced to cancel our opening run of Click Tracks in March, 2020 due to the initial COVID-19 Shelter-in-place ordinance. We are planning to remount the show July 2024 at SPACE 124. Can you help us RAISE FUNDS so that we can produce and share this incredible show?

Click Tracks is a new show by Helen Wicks Works inspired by the history of film scores and newsreels. In collaboration with rigging and lighting designer Benjy Young, aerial dancers will perform on a 4-story tightwire in Project Artaud's SPACE 124 March 13-15, 2020.
The 4-story tightwire provides a frame of time and space that, like sheet music, offers multi-directional timelines. Wicks examines the relationship between technology, sound, and cinema. Click Tracks questions how spectacle informs vaudeville, science fiction, melodramatic cinema, and news from the 1920s-70. The same music used in Vaudevillian shorts in 1933 accompanied 1964 newsreels. How has this spectacle structure set us up for consuming both news and entertainment today?
Click Tracks addresses the history behind the creation and production of news and entertainment. Mining the legacy of her great-grandfather, a Hollywood film score supervisor, Wicks uses music and movement to pose questions about the initial, and ongoing, conflation of news and entertainment. The work is a study of the music and moving picture industry, a glance into the conflation of news and entertainment since the inception of the screen.
